Getting Started and General Information
How do I set up Wi-Fi on my mobile device without incurring data roaming charges?
Make sure your Wi-Fi is turned on and your data roaming capabilities are turned off. Generally, you can find Wi-Fi and data roaming settings in your Settings, Manage Connections, or Preferences options on your mobile device. Once your Wi-Fi is turned on, open the Apple Vacations On the Go app. If you have not yet downloaded the app and you have an Android or iPhone, you may download the app from the
Android Market or the
iTunes app store.

How do I download the Apple Vacations On the Go app?
If you have an iPhone or an Android smartphone, you may download Apple Vacations On the Go app from the
Android Market or from the
iTunes app store. Search "Apple Vacations" and download.
How do I sign up?
Once you have turned on Wi-Fi, launch the Apple Vacations On the Go app or visit
www.appleonthego.com on your smartphone's browser. On the home page of the On the Go app, you will see a Sign Up button. Sign up by entering your email and password to create a new account or by using your Facebook or Twitter credentials to login. You'll be prompted to complete a user profile. If you use Facebook or Twitter, certain portions of your profile information will automatically transfer over.
What can I access using Apple Vacations On the Go?
You can access local information, a directory of other guests using On the Go, information about excursions, local restaurants, nightlife, public services, and interesting facts about your destination. If you have purchased an Apple Vacations calling plan, you can call friends, family, and Apple representatives on-property and off (off-property calling is only available to U.S.phone numbers.

What services are available on this site?
With the On the Go app, you can access local information, a directory of other guests using On the
Go, information about excursions, local restaurants, nightlife, public
services, and interesting facts about your destination. Once you have created a user profile, you can send friend requests and call other guests via the app (if you have purchased the calling plan). You may also send invitations to people via email or text message. Once they sign up for the On the Go app, you may exchange messages and call them (as long as you have the calling plan and both of you either have the Apple Vacations On the Go app or they have a U.S. phone number). If you have purchased the calling plan associated with the app, you may place and receive calls. Your friends and family at home may only receive calls from you unless they purchase the calling plan.

I logged in with Twitter, logged out, and then logged in again with Twitter. Why did it ask me to re-verify my Twitter credentials?
When you first login with Twitter, you can check "Remember Me" on the login page so that your session will be continuous only until you log out. If you do log out and log in again, you will have to verify your Twitter credentials again.

Personal Information
What does "Me" mean?
The Me icon in the black alerts bar at the top of your screen contains all of your personal profile functions. Here, you can update your status, see your news feed, view and edit your profile and privacy settings.
You can also update your location status by "checking in," letting others know that you are on-site. When you check in on-site, you are eligible to receive offer alerts.
Is my data private?
View our
privacy policy here. Regarding social web access, we do not store or see any of your Facebook or Twitter credentials. There is a token provided to us in order for you to login using Facebook or Twitter.
When editing your profile, you may choose to set your profile to Everyone (public) or Only Friends or Only Me (private). If you profile is set to Only Friends, guests must request to connect with you in order to see your full profile and send you messages.

Connecting to Others, Calling, and Messaging
How do I invite other people to connect?
Connecting with friends:
View the directory by going to Calls & Messages>Contacts. Find the people you are looking to connect with by searching for their name or email or by scrolling through the list to find them alphabetically. If their profile is set to "My Friends," you will not be able to find them in the directory unless you are already connected to them, but you can still search for their name. Once you find them, click the Add Friend icon to connect with them. If their profile is set to public, then simply send them a message or click Place Call to call them (both of you must have the app in order to call).
Connecting with someone back home:
There are two ways to invite someone to sign up and connect with you. You may either search for their name in the directory or compose a message. When the person's name doesn't appear the directory, you will see an option to "Invite new users." From here, you may send an invite by email or by SMS text message (for U.S. mobile numbers only). The second way to invite someone off-property is to compose a message. You will be given a selection of your contacts. At the end of your contact list, you have an option to invite new users.
How does someone find me to connect if I've set my privacy settings to "Only Friends"?
People may search for you in Contacts by name or by email. Your profile will come up and they may send you an invitation to connect.
Can I call or send messages to people back home?
You may call or send a message to people not in destination. For calling, you can use the keypad under Calls & Messages to dial a U.S. or Mexican phone number.
Another way to call or send a message to people off-site is to first invite them via email or by sending an SMS text message (U.S. mobile numbers only) through the "Invite new users" option (see "Connecting with someone back home" above). In order to continue communicating with someone back home, the person you invited must sign up. Once you are connected, you may choose to Send a Message or Call. To call the person, he or she must also have downloaded the app for iPhone or Android and you must have purchased the On the Go Traveler Connect calling package. You can place a call by selecting the call icon or you can use the keypad to dial the person's number you wish to call. The person may only receive calls from you and may not place calls to you. If the person wants to be able to call you through the app, he or she must also purchase the Apple Vacations On the Go Traveler Connect calling package.
How do I call or send messages to an Apple Vacations representative?
You can communicate with an Apple Vacations by clicking on Contact Apple on the home page.
How do I send and receive messages?
There are several ways to send messages. First, you can go to the Messages button on the alerts bar at the top of every page or visit Calls & Messages>My Messages and compose a message. The second way to send a message is from Contacts. Go to Calls & Messages>Contacts and search for the message recipient. Click on their profile and then you may click the message icon to compose a message.
When you receive a new message, an alert will appear on your phone in the alerts bar at the top of every page. You may also visit Calls & Messages>My Messages in order to view new messages.
What will an incoming call look like?
An incoming call from the Apple Vacations On the Go app to another On the Go app will alert the person receiving the call through an app alert. An incoming call to a person not using the app will appear as a call from 610-325-1200.
I am having trouble calling, what can I do?
Troubleshoot the app by trying each of these tasks. If the problem is still not resolved after you have tried every task, contact your Apple Representative. First, try logging out and then logging back in. Second, go to My Vacation on the home page and re-verify your booking confirmation number. Third, disconnect from the hotel's Wi-Fi and reconnect. Fourth, reset the app (for instructions, click here.. Finally, delete the app and re-download it. You will have to log in again and re-enter your booking confirmation number.

How do I redeem offers?
On the Local Offers page, click the offer you are interested in. In the middle of the screen, you will see a Redeem button. Hit the Redeem button and offer instructions will be revealed.
